The village is not by the lake: it's up. There is a stone trail that goes up and down, and, as you can see, it climbs high. It's really hard for the inhabitants, because they have to go downhill and then bring everything up to their homes, anything they need... even water. There is a pump to bring water from the lake to the village, but it is not used, because it's too noisy. Now the goverment is going to give them another pump which is silent.
